Black Raven's Review

Payton's Woman just got a fantastic review from Black Raven's Review. I've paste part of it below. Not only did I get 5 Black Ravens for Payton's Woman, I also go a "Recommended Read".  For the full reviews, go to Black Raven's Review.

Marilyn Yarbrough had me enthralled from beginning to end in Payton’s Woman. I fell in love with the Captain and his charms. In addition, Marilyn Yarbrough did an awesome job in this book of making me applaud her imagination throughout the story. Moreover, the passionate scenes between Captain Payton and Julia definitely blew my mind away. Captain Payton is a man no woman can resist.
Payton’s Woman by Marilyn Yarbrough is highly recommended by this reviewer to any reader who loves a pirate and the roguish tactics he uses to make a sensible woman go wild with passion.
Rated 5 Ravens and a Recommended Read by Lena!

Payton's Woman

I have just finished my novel entitled "Payton's Woman". It is a historical romance novel set in California in 1865, shortly after the end of the Civil War.

Julia Anderson is on a perilous quest. An unscrupulous marauder has killed her brother. She vows to avenge his death even if she has to dispense the justice herself. Hot on the murderer's trail, Julia stumbles into the arms of a man who resembles a fearsome pirate straight out of her childhood nightmares. But when this dark haired, blue-eyed pirate kisses her, the only thing he steals is her heart.

Captain Payton Tyler is on a quest of his own. He's distracted from his goal when an innocent, blond-haired beauty materializes out of the misty fog. When she disappears just as suddenly, Payton follows after her.

Danger and intrigue thrust Julia and Payton together--and into each other's arms. But as their desire for each other grows, so does Julia's suspicion. She fears the man who holds her in his arms, the man who holds her heart, may also be the man who killed her brother.

Once Upon A Love

I'm working on a novel called "Once Upon A Love". This novel is set in California in 1867. Jake had promised his dying brother he would always take care of his family. Now that his brother's wife is dead also, the children are traveling to California to live with him.

Amanda is trying to escape her brother's fanatical control of her life. Running away is her only option, but during her flight, she stumbles across three children who have been abandoned by their nursemaid. She rescues them and poses as their mother to avoid capture by the detective her brother has hired.

Jake believes a woman's place is in the home--but not his home, for he never intends to marry. The only reason Amanda is there is to care for his brother's children. Tempers flare when his old fashioned ideals clash with her independent thinking. When passion flares, Jake give it the only name he can--lust, for to him, love only exists in the fairy tales Amanda reads to the children.

Amanda tries to persuade Jake to open his heart, and not just his home, to his brother's children, but she doubts there will ever be room in his heart for her even though her own feelings for Jake burn far deeper than lust.
